I have to say that this is fine photography art, the focal point is wonderful, and the mute colors capture of the mood perfectly for this and the composition works as well. The left open doors brings the viewer in and allows us to move around freely in the photo. And I love the fact that focal point pulls me into this rather than off the picture. Even though the stairs lead my eye out, the fallen beam keeps me back into this. But my eyes does seem to be focused on the ground for some reason. (I wish I could explain that) I also like the subtle purple hue over all. But of course, I simply love old building like this, it's a sense of mystery and aww. The structure of the building is pretty elligant, and just allows me to use my imagination to make a story, like high class people holding a simple gathering, as their ghost lingure around, still visiting the old house. With the brightness of this all, it is really inviting, and I would be stuck snooping around, wanting to see what else lay around. I wish I could say something about the camera operatons you would have taken to get this shot, but I simply do not know the machanics of a professional camera. The only thing, and this is totally nit picking, is the plastic bottle at the base of the stairs, because this structure seems older than our present time manufactureing. Which would be stronger with out that.
How come I never find abandoned buildings this magical? I don't know anything about photography, but I suppose that means you have skill, if you can see the beautiful in something so dilapidated and make me see it too.
Excellent shot, what's really nice are the color values, complementary purple and yellow. And the contrast of warm and cool is what gives that stark appearance great harmony. The angles in the structure draw you right in there, especially that you show the ceiling as well as the floor.
